KINGSPORT, Tenn., Aug. 10, 2026 — SmashMeals is expanding its weekly menu messaging to reach two groups with similar food problems: shift workers who do not get normal meal breaks and athletes who need recovery meals ready after training.

The company’s 100% gluten-free, macro-counted meals are prepared weekly in Kingsport and designed for customers who want food that is ready before the day becomes chaotic.

“A nurse on a 12-hour shift and an athlete after practice have the same problem in different uniforms,” said Lew Kizer, owner of SmashMeals. “They need real food ready before they are starving.”

Recent nutrition coverage continues to emphasize protein at meals, while medical literature on GLP-1 therapy, weight loss, and lean mass preservation points to the importance of protein, resistance training, and nutrition structure.
