Choose Meals Without Recipe Prep
Write down the lunches and dinners where cooking is the obstacle. Two lunches and two dinners is four meal occasions to plan for, not a prescribed portion or a required package. Check the quantity and serving information for each item, and account for food already at home. Start with dishes you want to eat instead of filling the freezer with an unfamiliar routine.
A meal kit can still require chopping, raw-food handling, cooking and dishes. SmashMeals offers fully cooked food, so you do not need to follow a recipe to prepare it. That still leaves receiving the order, storing it correctly and reheating items that need heat. Confirm those steps for the exact meals you choose; prepared food does not mean every item is ready to eat straight from the package.
Read the item's reheating directions before ordering, especially if you only have a microwave at work or in a small kitchen. Do not assume every tray, lid or sauce container can go in an appliance. Use only containers suitable for that appliance and follow the package's venting, thawing and heating directions. If those directions are missing or unclear, ask SmashMeals before buying rather than guessing.
Check refrigerator or freezer space and arrange to receive perishable food. Read each label's storage and freeze-by directions when the order arrives, then decide which meals you will eat first. Heating time depends on the food, portion and appliance. USDA advises reheating leftovers to 165°F as measured with a food thermometer; a fixed number of microwave minutes does not establish that temperature. Follow the specific product's directions and ask about anything unclear.
Current menu pricing varies by meal and changes with the weekly menu — see the live menu for this week's prices. Compare item quantities, serving information, ingredients and posted nutrition before paying. If sodium, fiber or an allergen detail you need is missing, ask; missing information does not mean zero. Include fulfillment charges and tax shown at checkout when comparing with groceries, takeout or other prepared meals. Choose the convenience that fits your budget without assuming it is always the cheapest option.
SmashMeals cooks in a dedicated gluten-free facility. We do not bring wheat, barley, or rye into the building and we do not share equipment with gluten-containing production. A dedicated gluten-free facility is not an allergen-free facility. Check each meal's label for dairy, soy, egg, nuts, and other allergens.
SmashMeals meals are fully cooked. You still need to receive and store them correctly and follow any reheating directions for the specific item. Check its instructions before ordering.
No universal heating time applies. The dish, selected portion, starting temperature and appliance affect reheating. Follow the exact product's directions; do not use a marketing time as a food-safety check.
Check the product's directions for the tray, lid and any separate sauce container. Use only containers suitable for your appliance. Ask SmashMeals if the packaging or directions are unclear.
Count the lunches or dinners you want covered and check the serving information and quantity for each chosen item. Account for storage space and meals already at home. This is a shopping plan, not a recommended portion.
