How Long Do the Meals Stay Fresh?

There is not one shelf-life number for every SmashMeals item. Follow the dated use-by or freeze-by label and the storage directions on that specific meal. Keep it refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below, or freeze it according to the label.

• When you receive a meal, refrigerate or freeze it promptly. FDA says perishable food should not stay at room temperature for more than two hours, or one hour when the air temperature is above 90°F (32°C).
• If you will not eat a refrigerated meal by its label date, freeze it before that date only when the package directions allow it.
• USDA's 3–4 day refrigerator guidance is for cooked household leftovers. It does not establish a tested shelf life for every unopened SmashMeals package.
• If the date, seal, storage history, or arrival temperature is unclear, do not guess. Contact SmashMeals with the meal name and order details.
