Moving week eats badly for predictable reasons: the pans get packed first, the fridge gets emptied on purpose, and by night three it's drive-thru again. SmashMeals are already cooked. Each meal reheats in its own container in a microwave in about 2–3 minutes, then goes in the trash — nothing to wash, nothing to pack. Order one week for the move and stop.

Why Moving Week Falls Apart
- The kitchen gets packed first. Pots, pans, and knives go in boxes days before the truck comes.
- You empty the fridge on purpose so nothing spoils in transit — which leaves nothing to eat.
- The new kitchen isn't unpacked for days, and nobody remembers which box has the skillet.
- Everyone is exhausted. Carrying boxes all day is when you most need a real meal and are least likely to make one.
What SmashMeals Changes
Meals arrive fully cooked and labeled. Per our reheating guide, heat the meal in its own container with the lid resting loosely on top — medium power for 2–3 minutes, stir, and eat. A microwave and a fridge are all you need, and you likely have both on both ends of the move.
- Individual entrées for fast lunches between loads — see this week's menu.
- Breakfasts for early truck-arrival mornings.
- Family-sized dishes for the first night in the new house, or family freezer meals to stock the new freezer.
Timing Your Order Around the Move
- Order by Thursday 11:59 PM ET at order.smashmeals.com. There is no subscription and no minimum — order the weeks you need.
- Ship to the address where someone will be home to receive the box. If you're between houses, pick the one you'll be at on delivery day.
- In the Tri-Cities, pickup or local delivery lets you choose the day. Anywhere else we ship to, it's $30 flat-rate FedEx Ground to eligible addresses; delivery timing depends on the destination.
- Put the meals in the refrigerator or freezer on arrival and follow each label's storage instructions.
Moving Somewhere New?
Check that your new address is in our shipping area at checkout before you count on it. If the move is part of a bigger change — a new household, a parent moving closer, a kitchen that needs work — see meal help when life changes and meals during a kitchen remodel.
Our kitchen has been dedicated gluten-free since 2017, with no wheat, barley, or rye on site. Other allergens are handled in the facility, so check each meal's ingredient label.

How ordering works
- 1. Pick your meals Browse the menu that's live this week and choose what you want. Subscriptions are optional — order one week, every week, or whenever you need it.
- 2. Choose how you get them Free pickup at our Kingsport kitchen and Grab & Go partners, $15 home delivery in the Tri-Cities, or $30 flat-rate FedEx Ground for eligible addresses. Orders close Thursday 11:59 PM Eastern.
- 3. Heat and eat Meals are fully cooked and ready to heat. Local pickup and delivery meals arrive fresh, never frozen; shipped meals are flash-frozen for transit. Follow each item's storage and reheating directions.
- Dedicated gluten-free kitchen — We do not bring wheat, barley, or rye into the building and we do not share equipment with gluten-containing production. A dedicated gluten-free facility is not an allergen-free facility — check each label for other allergens.
- Transparent nutrition — Many current menu listings include calories and macros. Check each selected meal's label and ask for any ingredient or nutrient detail you need to make a choice.
- Cooked in Kingsport since 2017 — Founder-run production kitchen at 1917 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport, TN — the same kitchen for local pickup, local delivery, and shipped orders.
Moving Week Meals FAQ
- What should we eat during moving week when the kitchen is packed?
- Food that is already cooked and needs only a microwave. SmashMeals reheat in their own container in about 2–3 minutes on medium power, so there are no pans to keep out and no dishes to wash.
- Can I have meals shipped to my new address?
- Yes, if the new address is in our shipping area — checkout confirms eligibility. Shipping is a $30 flat rate by FedEx Ground to eligible addresses. Ship to wherever someone will be to receive the box on delivery day.
- Do I need a subscription?
- No. Order for moving week and stop, or keep ordering while you settle in. There is no subscription and no minimum order. Orders close Thursday at 11:59 PM ET.
- Can I send moving-week meals to someone else?
- Yes. Enter their address at checkout and add a gift note, and we'll pack it with the meals. It's a practical housewarming gift for a family that's still unpacking.
