In the days after a loss, the last thing a family should worry about is whether there's enough food for everyone who comes. We cater funeral receptions and repasts across the Tri-Cities — dignified, generous, and safe for every guest at the table, including those who eat gluten-free. From a kitchen run by a United Methodist pastor who understands the room.
Serving the Tri-Cities · 100% gluten-free kitchen · Church fellowship halls, homes, and gathering spaces
A Word From Pastor Lew
“I've stood at the front of a lot of funerals, and then walked back to a fellowship hall where somebody's aunt had been up since dawn trying to feed a hundred people through her own grief. That shouldn't fall on the family. Catering a repast isn't just a job for us — it's the part of the day where the church gets to wrap its arms around people with a warm plate. We'll handle the food. You handle the grieving. That's how it should be.”
What We Handle
A repast is not a catering event so much as a room full of people who need to be cared for quietly and well. Here is what we carry for you.
The whole gathering — generous, comforting food for a fellowship hall or a family home, sized to your headcount. Tell us the room and the crowd and we'll build the spread.
Safe for every guest — our entire kitchen has been 100% gluten-free since 2017, so the celiac cousin and the newly-diagnosed grandchild eat the same food as everyone else. No separate table, no worry.
Comfort that holds up — Southern staples and our 18-hour smoked brisket. Most meal preps take fifteen minutes; ours takes eighteen hours. See our catering options and this week's menu.
Setup that respects the day — we arrive quiet, early, and on time, and we stay out of the way. Delivery and setup details are arranged when we build your quote.
How It Works
Call (423) 525-2489 or reach Lew at Lew@smashmeals.com. Tell us the date, the headcount, and where.
We'll build a menu and a quote to fit the family and the gathering — no upselling, no pressure.
We prepare everything fresh in our Kingsport kitchen and coordinate delivery, setup, or pickup with whoever is handling the room.
Your people are fed, warmly and well, without the family lifting a finger.
For Churches
If you're a church care team or funeral committee, we make repast catering simple — one call instead of a phone tree of volunteers, and food that's safe for every member. We know fellowship halls, and we know how these days go. See our church care ministry meals page, or send the family sympathy meals for the quiet weeks after the service.
1. Pick your meals Browse the menu that's live this week and choose what you want. Subscriptions are optional — order one week, every week, or whenever you need it.
2. Choose how you get them Free pickup at our Kingsport kitchen and Grab & Go partners, $15 home delivery in the Tri-Cities, or $30 flat-rate FedEx Ground for eligible addresses. Orders close Thursday 11:59 PM Eastern.
3. Heat and eat Meals are fully cooked and ready to heat. Local Tuesday delivery and shipped orders arrive with full macro labels on every meal.
Dedicated gluten-free kitchen — We do not bring wheat, barley, or rye into the building and we do not share equipment with gluten-containing production. A dedicated gluten-free facility is not an allergen-free facility — check each label for other allergens.
Transparent nutrition — Calories and macros are published for every meal, so you can match meals to what you're actually trying to do.
Cooked in Kingsport since 2017 — Founder-run production kitchen at 1917 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport, TN — the same kitchen for local pickup, local delivery, and shipped orders.
