Foundayo is the GLP-1 pill you can take any time of day, with or without food. No timing rules makes it easy to take. It also makes it easy to forget to eat. Here is how to plan meals that keep up with a smaller appetite.

Foundayo (orforglipron) is a once-daily GLP-1 pill from Eli Lilly that can be taken at any time of day, with or without food or water. There is no special Foundayo diet. The food basics are the same as other GLP-1 medicines: lead each meal with protein, eat smaller portions you can finish, sip fluids through the day, add fiber as you tolerate it, and do not skip meals when you are not hungry. Because there is no built-in mealtime routine, the most useful thing you can do is plan your meals ahead. Your prescriber sets your dose; this guide is about the food.

The FDA approved Foundayo on April 1, 2026, for adults with obesity, or with overweight and a weight-related health problem, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity. It became the second GLP-1 pill for weight management, after the Wegovy pill.
With the Wegovy pill, the 30-minute morning wait forces you to think about breakfast. Foundayo has no such routine. That is convenient, but a smaller appetite and no set mealtime can quietly add up to a day of coffee and crackers. A few habits keep that from happening:
For a full week laid out meal by meal, use our 7-day GLP-1 meal plan. If side effects are getting in the way, see our GLP-1 side effects food guide and eating with a low appetite.
Both are daily GLP-1 pills for weight management, and the food basics are the same for both. The difference is timing. The Wegovy pill is taken on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, followed by a 30-minute wait before food or drink. Foundayo can be taken any time, with or without food. Our Wegovy pill meal plan covers that morning routine. Which medicine is right for you is a conversation for your prescriber.
The pill is the easy part. Having a real meal ready when you are not hungry, or not home, is the hard part. That is what we do:

This guide is food and planning information, not medical advice. SmashMeals does not prescribe or sell medication, and our meals are not a treatment. Follow your prescriber's and pharmacist's instructions for taking Foundayo.

Lilly's dosing guidance says Foundayo can be taken once a day at any time, with or without food, and with no water restrictions. Follow your prescriber's instructions.
There is no special Foundayo diet. Lead each meal with protein, keep portions to what you can comfortably finish, sip fluids through the day, add fiber as tolerated, and plan meals ahead so a smaller appetite does not turn into skipped meals.
Many people do better with smaller meals, eating slowly, stopping at comfortable, and going easy on greasy or very rich foods. If nausea, vomiting or diarrhea continues, talk with your prescriber.
No. Both are daily GLP-1 pills for weight management, but they are different medicines from different companies. The Wegovy pill is semaglutide taken on an empty stomach with a 30-minute wait. Foundayo is orforglipron and has no food or water timing rules.
