What has stayed consistent

Where we started: Built in Kingsport since 2017

SmashMeals began in Kingsport with a practical goal: prepare meals carefully, label them clearly and make weekly food planning easier. The business still cooks, packs and fulfills orders from its Kingsport production kitchen.

How the name began: A name rooted in the original team

Lew started the company with co-founder Ashlee, whose nickname was Smashlee. Shortening that nickname created the name Smash Meals. Ashlee has since moved on from the business, and her role in its beginning remains part of the company’s history.

Who runs the kitchen: Founder-owned and family-operated

Lew continues to own and operate SmashMeals. LB and Daisy Kizer help cook, pack and deliver meals. Customers who need a detail clarified can contact the same local team responsible for preparing and fulfilling orders.

What guides the work: Practical service, not big promises

Lew also serves as a United Methodist pastor. He describes the connection between ministry and the kitchen in simple terms: show up, listen and do the work in front of you. On this website, that means sharing what is known, stating the limits and making it easier to ask before ordering.

Dedicated gluten-free, with clear limits

SmashMeals cooks in a dedicated gluten-free facility. We do not bring wheat, barley or rye into the building and we do not share equipment with gluten-containing production.

A dedicated gluten-free facility is not an allergen-free facility. Check each meal label for dairy, soy, egg, nuts and other allergens.

A customer story, review or kitchen description cannot establish whether a specific meal fits an individual medical diet.

Read kitchen and allergen standards and check meal-information limits.

What to check before you order

  1. Check the live menu for current meals, prices, portions and posted nutrition details.
  2. Read the exact meal label for allergens and ask when a required ingredient or nutrition detail is missing.
  3. Confirm the pickup, local-delivery or shipping option shown during checkout before paying.
